AWM Election

Hi everyone,

Don't forget to vote in the AMS election. The question of whether or
not to create AMS Fellows is on the ballot. Such a program will be
helpful to top notch mathematicians who are not in top departments and
need the extra recognition to get funding/time for their research at
their university. It could help some achieve the status of
distinguished lecturer and others get some recognition for their
research in the form of research leaves and released time..

This could be particularly helpful to mathematicians who have chosen
to work at their universities in order to solve two body problems.
Many of the top women mathematicians are not currently located at the
top math departments and do not have the low teaching loads and
research support they would have at such a department.
