It would be most helpful if every member posted their lineage -
whether there's proof or just circumstantial evidence. Personally, I
have a lot of circumstantial evidence. Some members could possibly
have two Womack lineages. Please feel free to ask members any
questions regarding spouses, children, siblings, etc.

I'll get the ball rolling.

Richard III Womack/Nancy Ann Childers
Jacob Womack/Sarah Johnson
David Womack/Unknown Wife (circumstantial)
Larkin Womack (1785)/Frances Basye (proven grandfather)
James Womack Baldwin/Evaline Carter
William Newton Womack/Elizabeth Leona Lawson
Mary Frances Womack/Vernon Pinkney Walls <<<<< my grandparents

Larkin and Frances left Arkansas ca. 1835 and settled in Panola Co.,
TX where he died in 1849. Their son, James moved back to Arkansas and
lived in Van Buren, Pope and Perry Counties. He died 1902 in Perry
Co.

Hit what I think may be a home run yesterday. Stumbling around in GA
archives and found a death cert for Thomas Henry Womack (b. 1852),
youngest child of Thomas J. Womack and Esther. On this cert "Estelle
Goss" was listed as his mother's name. Estelle is spanish
translation
of "Esther". Got to do some tax list work before ready to say for
sure this is her previously unknown maiden name but looking good at
the moment. Will get back when more is complete.

I have not been able to tie my great-grandfather with his mother &
father. I find him living with another family as a farm laborer but
the census I needed (1900) was not available. I'm new at this so any
corrections you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I have
photos of my great grandparents and of the individuals I believe are
his parents.

Carolyn,

No wonder you couldn't find them! On the 1900 Green Co., KY census,
I searched for a White male, born 1886. Charles Leon Womack is
indexed on Ancestry.com census records as Charly W* born April
1886. On the census image, The Womack surname is very poorly
written. (Sam, please add them to your 1900 census! Ancestry.com
won't allow you to search for the surname W* (as a wildcard), so I had
to search the whole Donansburg Twp. to get them as indexed)

1900 Donansburg, Green Co., KY As Indexed

Charly W* b. Apr 1886 Son

Mathew owned his farm; he had a mortgage on it. The family members
could all read, write and speak English.

So there you have your proof of Charles's parents, Miss Carolyn!

Thanks Sam, I saw that too. Sorry about the previous post on the "Roll
Call" thread being so long winded. That was about as short as it was
going to be without some serious editing, which I didnt have time to
do :). If anybody has any questions, just let me know.

Hi, I’m really new to the genealogy scene and truly appreciate all of
the excellent research and information everyone on this group has
shared.

I have a number of letters and diaries that my mother preserved and I
inherited. Since I work well over 40-hours per week, I have not had
much spare time to truly examine these in any depth. My husband is of
the opinion that I’m already spending more time on family history than
I have to spare – but I’m truly fascinated by it all.
I’m comfortable that the following family lineage is fairly accurate.

Richard III Womack/Nancy Ann Childers
Jacob Womack/Sarah Johnson
Johnson Ashley Womack / wife unknown
David Johnson Womack/ Elizabeth M. Briscoe
Thomas Jefferson Womack/ Eliza Jane Angelina Ensey
(I show Eliza Jane Angelina Ensey died 20 Feb 1923 in West Quay,
New Mexico)

Sarah (Sallie) Elizabeth Womack/Frederick “Fred” Fridley (My G-
Grandparents)
(Fred was born near Bern Switzerland (Per family records Fred
Fridley had studied in Switzerland to be a Jesuit Priest. According to
my Grandfather, Fred knew 7 languages and 10 dialects. My Grandfather
had a document from the US Department of the Treasury acknowledging
his work as an interpreter. My Mother and Grandfather were told by
Sallie Womack that Fred’s work for the Dept of the Treasury related to
an Indian tribal treaty. Fred was a member of the Texas Farmers
Alliance as was his Brother-In-Law, William Jefferson Womack. He also
worked as a well-digger and a farmer. Fred died in 1884 in Jack
County, Texas from TB.)

Second marriage for Sallie Womack was to William F. Buckner Aug. 4,
1884 in Jack County, Texas. William F. Buckner died August 17, 1927
in Shafter, Kern County, CA and is buried at Shafter Memorial
Cemetery, Kern County, California.

(I have a list of Sallie Womack's children - both Fridley and
Buckner- if anyone is interested.)

Sallie Womack died April 24, 1934 at her son, Jacob Jefferson
Fridley’s place in Halsey, Oregon. She is buried at Alford Cemetery,
Harrisburg, Oregon.

Jacob Jefferson Fridley/ Lura Mae King (My Grandparents)
(Jacob Jefferson was called Jeff or Jeffie and he always signed his
name “JJ Fridley”.)
Jacob Jefferson was born July 16, 1881 in Jack County, Texas – Died
July 22, 1970 at his daughter’s home in Junction City, Oregon. He is
buried across small roadway from his mother, Sallie Womack at Alford
Cemetery in Harrisburg, OR.

Lura Mae King died when my mother (Ruth) was 6 days old – January 23,
1918 near Dexter, New Mexico. Lura is buried at Hagerman Cemetery,
Chavez County, New Mexico. After Lura died, Jacob Jefferson Fridley
took Ruth to be raised by his mother, Sallie Womack and her husband,
William Buckner. Ruth stayed with Sallie until Sallie’s death in
1934.

I have just recently discovered that there are Womack connections on
my father's side as well as my mother's side of the family. The
connection is through the marriage of Mary Wilson Edgar to William
Patton in Jefferson County, Tennessee,13 Aug 1796. Mary's daughter,
Isabella Blackburn Patton married Abner Clements Womack. My father is
related to this Edgar family. The Womack/Edgar connections are by
marriage only, but I still find it very interesting.

Thank you again to everyone on the Womack group for their efforts at
preserving this wonderful family history!

Going to add this to Roll Call as it does show how some lines can get
wound around each other!! This was a previous post.

Was tracking another line or two of mine and some familiar names
popped up. So I did a little deeper back tracking and found, lo and
behold, that Abraham, brother to Richard, was also a great
grandfather
of mine as follows:

Abraham Womack and Sarah Worsham or Sumerseals
Thomas Womack and Mary Farley
John Williams and Mary Womack
Mary Williams and William Farrar
Perrin Farrar and Sally Lacy
Lucy Farrar and Laney or Landy Jones
Mary M Jones and Thomas H Scarborough
John B Scarborough and Sarah Swink
John H Scarborough and Arethusa Randals Woodard
Sallie Scarborough and Samuel Louis Womack
Samuel Otis Womack and Naomi Brewer
Me

John Williams, above. was the brother of Anne, below,
who married John Daniel.. It is odd that both Anne and
her brother John are both greatgrandparents of mine..

Anne Williams and John Daniel
Sarah Patsy Daniel and John Harrison
Richard Benjamin Harrison and Anne or Nancy Pattillo
Jane Harrison and Christopher Golightly
Claremont Golightly and William Bullington
John Jasper Bullington and Susannah Jenkins
Caroline Carrie Bullington and Thomas A Womack
Samuel Louis Womack and Sallie Arethusa Scarborough
Samuel Otis Womack and Naomi Brewer
