First off, hope your midsem prep is going well.

Next weekend, the Google team is going to be visiting Mumbai to share their thoughts on innovative technologies and nurture developers to reach out to their mentors all over India. You can find out more about this on the event page.

There is also another hackathon coming up, which is to be sponsored by Ubisoft, called the GameLab. Its a 48-hour hackathon to be conducted in Pune on the 3rd and 4th of October. If you wish to participate, form a team of upto 5 and fill out this form, which also contains all relevant information.

Finally, for some midsem "lukkha", here is one explanation regarding the skewed gender distribution in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields. This article claims, that this has nothing to do with aptitude or interests, but with the perception of one's aptitude and in particular how the perception girls have towards their aptitude changes with time regardless of their actual aptitude.
