Hey guys!

So the midsems are finally done with and you are now one exam closer to the last exam of your life!

Let's get started with this week's announcements:
First off, we have GameLab coming up as many of you (well, at least the patrons of this newsletter) would know. To that end, we have obtained written permission from the Dean so you can talk to your profs regarding labs and classes. Also the deadline has been pushed to 11:59 pm on 20 September due to the midsems not leaving enough time for ideation.
Secondly, for all of you interested in playing or developing games, or both, we have a conference organised by Ubisoft for you this Friday evening at 6 in LH102. We will have the Managing Director and Leads of the studio talk about the creative processes behind game development and about the current trends in the industry.
Lastly, this week we plan on getting started wth the Reflections sessions for this year. For those of you who were not here last sem, Reflections was an initiative started by Samir Wadhwa which include a series of informal, interactive talks conducted by seniors about fields they have had experience in. It mainly serves to help people who might be interested in a particular field get a comprehensive overview of the field and get in touch with the right people.

Here is a really cool video that uses machine learning to take the good old Nokia Asha Snake game to a different level. The environment now contains numerous snakes that get smarter with time!

For all you Game of Thrones fans, I am sure that the leaked episodes really spiced up your life but what about the martyrs (just kidding!- we definitely do not endorse piracy) who made this possible. As it turns out, the leak began right here in our city and those guilty have been taken into custody. You can find out more right here.

Now, for those of you who crib and complain about out profs, have a look at some profs from other universities. Here's one prof who tries to enforce rules through memes, and one who was so chill that this was his response to students not paying attention to him in class.

Like always, here are some memes to brighten up your Sunday:
