Social Code.io is seeking a Lead Developer to help build and develop an already existing patient community and behaviour change software platform. This job would suit somebody who is working as a software developer and is keen to take a step up in responsibility in a startup environment, or someone in a similar role at a larger company and wants to change to a smaller, faster moving company that is making a positive difference in healthcare.

Social Code provides web and mobile applications for the prevention and self-management of chronic disease. This position is a lynchpin role in the organisation reporting directly to the CEO. The person will be managing a development team, scoping software development, setting the technical direction of the company and working with clients and developers to produce disease management applications based on the Social Code software platform. As Social Code as offices in New Zealand and the US, there will be travel opportunities to San Francisco. As a small team, getting hands on the code is part of the job, so you’ll be happy coding as well as making decisions.

*Understanding of software architecture to deliver a quality user experience on web and mobile
*Excellent communication skills
*Ability to solve real world problems by application of technology and choosing the right tool for the job
*Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, iOS or Android development experience

*Amazon Web Services experience desirable
