Hi,
Could you help me?

I try to install BEA WebLogic 5.1 Enterprise Server on Windows 2000 (HP
workstation X4000) with Intel Xeon processor.
After setup I have an error about: WLPASSWDW.exe and when I
startweblogic.cmd I have the error:

D:\weblogic>d:\jdk1.2.2\bin\java -ms64m -mx64m -classpath
.\classes\boot;.\eval\
cloudscape\lib\cloudscape.jar
-Dweblogic.class.path=.\license;.\classes;.\lib\we
blogicaux.jar;.\myserver\serverclasses -Dweblogic.home=.

-Djava.security.policy==.\weblogic.policy weblogic.Server

My java env is:

C:\>java -version
java version "1.2.2"
Classic VM (build JDK-1.2.2_007, native threads, symcjit)

Thanks in advance,

Does the weblogic.policy file existing in the current directory? If so,
try -Djava.security.policy==./weblogic.policy

Hope this helps,
Robert

Yes, I have the weblogic.policy file, but the problem is still reproducible.

Probably the same situation is also with Pentium 4, about symcjit.dll.
Exists a workaround?

Thanks, Ettore.

There is a problem with the symcjit.dll on Pentium 4 and Xeon architectures. The JRE (1.2.2_001) shipped with older versions of 5.1sp11 has been replaced with 1.2.2_007 recently. Try downloading WLS 5.1sp11 again, and the install should work.
