I have been very busy lately on a contract and I've neglected several
Webconverger work items:

* new init script for refreshing the $HOME for better security
* removing xterm for better security
* updating the webconverger key
* moving the wiki to http://branchable.com/
* updating Firefox
* migrating to 3.x Debian Live build system

They key expiration is pretty annoying for me, though since people
don't do upgrades, it's not such a big issue. It would be if we had a
functioning upgrade system. Right now an upgrade for a Webconverger
user currently means downloading a new ISO.

As you may or not know, there is a Royal wedding here in the UK with a
few enforced holidays and I will be planning to be tackling this items
then in Cornwall.

Kind regards,

Johannes

Hi guys,

I hope you enjoyed all enjoyed the wedding. ;)

✔ updating Firefox
✔ migrating to 3.x Debian Live build system

Have a test of the latest builds please. We have FF4 and I'm a little
worried about it's performance on netbooks and wireless compatibility.
Lots of the work behind the scenes was done by Daniel Bauman and I'm
thinking of basing Webconverger on his artax (progress linux)
distribution, which IIUC is Debian stable with a bunch of select
updates like a recent kernel and browser.

I use Archlinux as my main OS, so I don't have to worry about how
"conservative" Debian stable is. ;)

Have a go and let me know what you think. Still lots to do and I
wonder if any of you can help?
* Flash update (sigh, come on HTML5 video!)
* New syslinux theme

* new init script for refreshing the $HOME for better security
* removing xterm for better security

I'm not sure if any of you noticed the not-so-secret test site of the
new wiki http://www.webconverger.org/ I will move it to
http://webconverger.org/ when I get a chance.

So give http://build.webconverger.org/webconverger.2011-05-01.iso a
whirl and let me know what you think.

Kind regards,
