 Hey everybody,

Is it possible to save the Login for a Website in the webconverger-browser so that the Kiosk-Users don't have to Login?

 Greetings

Hi Andy,

Sorry for the delay and sorry there is no way for a standard
Webconverger to save the login for a Website.

You need to change your Website to better fit a kiosk work flow. :)

What some people do, is change their Website to effectively
authenticate on one of Webconverger's URL expansions as documented
upon http://webconverger.org/API/

That way you know which machine or which USB stick is used to connect
to your Website.

There is also the "noclean" option, though I don't recommend that.
That would leave the previous users browsing data around. Between
reboots atm Webconverger will clean despite the "noclean" option being
defined.

Theoretically you might be able to script Firefox via the prefs= API
to perhaps automatically login. Though this would be very complex and
I don't know how to do it myself. Please adjust your homepage!

Kind regards,

If it is the same login for everybody you could create a "landing" page with a link that carries the login

e.g. http://username:pass...@website.com

Not sure what happens if you use this directly as the homepage= API ?

IIRC support for those sorts of password encoded URLs have been
dropped by leading browsers. It shouldn't work.

To make a homepage "auto-login" you really must change the Web
applicaiton itself. I realise this is not realistic in some
deployments. :/

Kind regards,
