So this is off topic, but I thought might be off interest to folks. For those who went to the Forward Technology Conference last year or are involved with Merlin Mentors or a number of technology projects and funding in town, you've probably heard of Laurie Benson, former CEO of Inacom.

Laurie will be presenting a workshop on Building Community. If you're starting a business and need to make connection, have a start-up and need to spread the world, advocating for an issue or cause, or just need to grow your core audience, Laurie has awesome insights. She's built two multi-million dollar companies and has even been recognized by the president.

If you can pass the word on. Also, whisper in people's ear, 'they can sign-up as a member or for a scholarship, if the $25 is a concern'. The room cost has been covered already, so we're just looking for incidentals.

Building Community, 7 Lessons Learned

«Register Today»

We're one week away from 'Building Community: 7 Lessons Learned Along the Way' presented by Laurie Benson with special guest, Margaret Bomber. Have you registered yet?

Building Community is vital to organizational development, regardless if you are acommunity activist, nonprofit organizer, business founder, or entrepreneur. Our communities keep us motivatedconnected, and engaged. Whether or not they be clients, donors, volunteers, or collaborators, communities help us work towards our missions and sustain our future.

Laurie Benson is a presidentially recognized community organizer and motivator. The CEO of LSB Unlimited, former CEO of Inacom Information Systems, and Co-Chair, UW Madison, School of Nursing, she is dynamic, engaging and actively shares her enviable leadership skills.

Benson and Bomber will provide you access and insights into the seven important lessons for strengthening your organization, regardless if you are a start-up, well-established, or looking for better ways to engage with your community. You’ll understand how building your business or nonprofit is about more than just great ideas, but connecting with purpose.

As always, membership has it's privileges, not only can members attend this event for free, we encourage you to bring a guest along for free as well. That's right, I've heard Laurie speak before and one of her thoughts around event attendance is don't attend events alone. She encourages you to bring a friend to not only share the experience with, but to enhance the experience for both of you (and the event organizer). So bring a friend, member or not, for free. Just order tickets for two.

Non-members, we haven't forgotten you. The fee for non-members has been reduced to $25 and scholarships are available. Scholarships are first come, first served, so grab yours quickly. Don't forget to invite a friend to come with.
