Redirecting certain users after login

So I searched the web and found info how to redirect user to a certain page when they log in

by adding referred_actions=None to {{='auth' in globals() and auth.navbar(mode="dropdown") or  '' }} in layout.html

Then adding auth.settings.login next = URL('page') in db.py

But how would one go about if you want to redirect certains user by id or username to certain pages when they login?
