1) web2py-scheduler.conf
2) the auth token system

again, just for the sake of recap:
1) ok but we NEED to choose what to put in scripts/*. The "everything else" rule is revealing the side effect of piling unmaintained cruft
2) there are several reincarnation of the same concept, but as it stands authorizing with a token is suited either for APIs or SPA. in that vision, instead of reinventing the wheel, jwt seems a better fit. given that the new token system is tagged as experimental, we shouldn't be afraid of shipping it with a stable release: in the next one it'll be - hope so - replaced by the jwt implementation.... it'll fill the same gap with a totally different api.
