Speak Up To Support Border To Border Trail Construction In Ypsilanti!!! – Please consider either attending the Tuesday, June 16th City Council meeting (7pm, City Hall, 1 S. Huron) or sending an email to you Council members urging support for B2B trail construction from Riverside Park south to Grove Road.

On the Council agenda are two agenda items for the engineering and construction of the B2B including a new non-motorized bridge across the Huron River and a dedicated Trail crossing of Michigan Avenue with stoplights for non-motorized users.

The most impact to make all this happen would be making a short statement during the audience participation time near the start of the Council meeting (you don’t have to stay for the whole meeting). Can’t make the meeting? Please consider sending an email to City Council members (email addresses at http://www.cityofypsilanti.com/Government/MayorCityCouncil). Possible points to make in you comments could include…

  • Identify yourself as a City resident. If you don’t live in the City, explain how a completed B2B would bring you into the City more
  • Walking and biking facilities are important to you, not only for recreation but also for transportation
  • A completed B2B in Ypsi will help the City economically, bringing visitors to the City, visiting area businesses, as well as helping to spur development, especially in Water Street
  • The B2B will provide facilities for healthy recreation opportunities by providing people of all ages with attractive, safe, accessible and a no-cost place to cycle, walk, hike, jog or skate

Thanks in advance for supporting non-motorized transit in Ypsilanti!
