Registration is Now Open for Lucinda Means Bicycle Advocacy Day! Lucinda Means Bicycle Advocacy Day provides bicyclists an opportunity to meet with lawmakers to thank them for their support and urge them to advance important bicycle-friendly policies. Join us at the State Capitol on May 23rd, 2018, for this unique opportunity for cyclists of all abilities – casual riders and die-hards alike – to converge on the State Capitol and speak with one voice to help make Michigan bicycling better. This year, more bicycle-friendly legislation is making its way through the State Legislature than ever before, thanks to everyone who engaged with our Action Alerts and contacted their lawmakers about our bicycle legislation. Your help has advanced bills to dedicate more time to bicycle-related topics in driver's education, clarify the meaning of an obstructed license plate to exclude a bike rack, and establish a state-wide safe passing law. These issues have never gotten this far before, we have seen progress but need to keep up the fight! Additionally, this year we will be engaging lawmakers in discussion of a package of bills that will alter the landscape of how the state funds conservation projects, with a specific focus on trails. Advocacy Day is hosted by the League of Michigan Bicyclists in partnership with the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance, Michigan Mountain Biking Association, and PEAC. Registration is only $15 and includes lunch on the Capitol lawn. Register for advocacy day below:
