Low Bono and Solo Intitative

The Access to Justice Institute
is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for the

2016 Low Bono Incubator Program

and the David Leen Consumer Justice Incubator

The Low Bono Incubator Program provides training, guidance, and resources to help Seattle University School of Law alumni launch and maintain a solo or small firm practice designed to serve the moderate means client community by offering reduced-fee legal services. Through the Incubator Program, selected Seattle University law alumni will have the opportunity to "incubate" a law practice for 12 months for the purposes of creating a sustainable, successful low bono law practice.  New this year, we are launching the David Leen Consumer Justice Incubator which is part of the Low Bono Incubator.  Created in partnership with the Northwest Consumer Law Center, the David Leen Consumer Incubatee will focus on consumer law.

Through the 2016 year-long incubator program, each attorney will benefit from:

·       A $3,000 stipend to help cover initial costs of launching a practice

·       Office space at Impact Hub Seattle to work, meet clients, collaborate with peers and use as a business center.  The David Leen Consumer Justice Incubator Attorney will benefit from office space at the Northwest Consumer Law Center.

·       A mentor’s support and guidance in running a law practice

·       Support and guidance from mentors with experience in particular areas of law

·       Peer support through bi-monthly meetings with the law practice mentor

·       Regular workshops and CLEs geared to provide hands-on training to launch and build a low bono practice

·       All alumni privileges of the Law Library plus a free borrowing membership

·       Free subscriptions to case management software and virtual practice tools
