IT WORKS is seeking a PHP developer that performs programming duties including design, specifications development, and system implementation. Primary responsibilities will be to interact with a large Oracle database, retrieving data and displaying it on the front end using JavaScript. Includes coding, unit and functional testing, debugging and deploying software to production and test environments. Provides system support to end users on an ongoing basis by researching problems and resolving them. A minimum of three (3) years of experience.


Requirements:

§  Proven software development experience in PHP at intermediate or advanced level

§  Knowledge of front-end web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX etc.

§  Strong skills working with relational databases such as Oracle

§  Familiarity with version control tools

§  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

§  Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas

 

Skills and Qualifications:

§  Knowledge of object oriented PHP programming

§  Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of PHP

§  Extensive familiarity with front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Familiarity with jQuery, with some knowledge of DataTables and intro.js libraries preferred

§  Understanding accessibility and security compliance 

§  Strong knowledge of the common PHP or web server exploits and their solutions

§  Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

§  User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments

§  Strong database skills including writing SQL queries, writing SQL stored procedures, and optimizing queries and indexes for large data sets.

§  Familiarity with Oracle databases and their declarative query languages

§  Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes

§  Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system

§  Proficient understanding of code version control practices and tools, such as Subversion
