In the documentation and GitHub issue tracker I couldn't find any references to Google Cloud Storage support as a backend blob store. Am I correct in my assumption that it is unsupported? Has there been any interest in implementing this support?

Thanks for any feedback regarding this issue.

Yeah, no one has implemented support for that yet.

Hi Guys,

I was wandering whether there was a quick way to hack around this problem as in the source it seems to be checking against known s3 regions if I'm reading it correctly (I'm not a programmer but a sysadmin) and it also hints that you can Permit the GetLocation permission in the output. I was under the impression that Google supports the AWS S3 HMAC format, or am I missing something else?

If I had the time and the know how I'd write support for it myself, in the mean time is there a quick way to bypass this check in the source?

Thanks for your time.

Hi Bartek,

WAL-E mostly works (put and fetch are fine) with Google's S3-emulation
API. There's more discussion about it in this issue:
