AESP Webinar Series - Next installments coming March 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th and 20th

Join our specialists for webinars highlighting NASA Resources that you can use in your education activities.

·  On March 12th (4-5PM & 6-7PM Eastern), Steve Culivan will lead participants in an investigation conducted by viewing images of Mars and using the scientific method general questions that can be refined using the information available.

·  On March 13th (4-5PM Eastern), Angelo Casaburri will discuss the relationship between nutrition and fitness, activities that examine techniques to make life-long healthy meal and activity choices, understanding food labels and assessing proper nutritional and exercise choices.

·  On March 18th (4-5PM & 6-7PM Eastern), Tony Leavitt will explore how weather and climate are related and how they differ, introducing participants to NASA websites that engage and educate students about these important topics.

·  On March 19th (4-5PM & 6-7PM Eastern), John Weis will demonstrate simple activities and resources for teaching physics at elementary school levels, including lesson plans for Newton's Laws of Motion, energy, light and gravity.

·  On March 20th (4-5PM Eastern), Julie Muffler will share "Radiation Exposure on Earth," the first activity of "NASA's Radiation Challenge Guide" designed for middle school classrooms.

2013 Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics & Science Teaching (PAEMST) 

  • The PAEMST program is open to outstanding mathematics & science teachers in the 50 states and the four U.S. jurisdictions. Nominations (click here) for secondary school teachers (grades 7-12) are due April 1, 2013.

Science vs. Engineering – what are the differences? Workshops 

  • This engaging, dynamic workshop is for formal and informal educators in grades 4-12. "The Challenge of Discovery" will highlight science and engineering from various NASA missions: OSIRIS-REx, MESSENGER, and New Horizons.
