I'm slowly converting from classic to Jupyter.

My understanding is that the classic version will see no further upgrades.  Is that correct?

I have scripts written in "classic".
In moving to the new version, what if anything should I look out for other than swapping "visual" to "vpython"?
What's the best way to simply run the scripts?
Can I run the scripts from the command line without starting a notebook?
-- This is what I really want to do.  Many of my scripts are class demos.   I'd like to have a way of just starting them without bothering with a notebook.

The notebooks shine in an interactive setting.   I don't need the interactive aspect for this.

Thanks to all for all your efforts.

The Jupyter notebook is essential, because the 3D rendering is done with WebGL in the browser, using the GlowScript library. Yes, development of Classic VPython had to end.

See vpython.org for details. Also, in the Help at glowscript.org see the section "For those who have used Classic VPython", which includes a useful converter program.
