Jupyter VPython 0.2.0b16 is now available. As usual, you can use "pip install vpython --upgrade".

At VPython.org there is a slightly enhanced set of example programs in a zip file. In particular, the program Stonehenge lets you "fly" through a complex scene, using the new GlowScript machinery for moving the camera in such situations. See the diagrams at

There is some jerkiness in the Stonehenge fly-through that is not yet understood.

Features available in GlowScript but not yet in Jupyter include mouse picking, attach_arrow(), attach_trail() (though make_trail works), and extrusion.

Features missing from GlowScript (and therefore missing also from Jupyter) include frame, full implementation of extrusion, and 3D text, which depends on extrusion.

With most of the GlowScript VPython features implemented, it will soon be time to turn attention to 1) handling widgets such as buttons, sliders, and pull-down menus and 2) speeding up the code, perhaps through the use of Cython (cython.org) which John Coady has already experimented with.
