Lars,
I appreciate all your tutorials and have significantly increased my
Eclipse capabilities through them!

The p2 one is giving me a bit of trouble. I followed the steps but
gives me the error below.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?

- I have the feature "Equinox p2 RCP Management Facilities" in the
target definition.
- Using the standard menu choices org.eclipse.equinox.p2.ui.sdk.update
and org.eclipse.equinox.p2.ui.sdk.install
- Exporting the product with metadata
-Copy the exported application to a different folder and invoking the
menus gives the error
!ENTRY org.eclipse.equinox.p2.ui.sdk 2 0 2011-11-13 18:54:37.464
!MESSAGE Could not locate the running profile instance. The
eclipse.p2.data.area and eclipse.p2.profile properties may not be set
correctly in this application's config.ini file.
- There is a p2 directory in the application folder

Are you using Eclipse 3.7? Is org.eclipse.equinox.p2.rcp.feature included?

If you select Install this should bring up the dialog which allow you to maintain the location or your p2 update site. Are you getting the error for both entries?

Lars,
Would it be possible to get a zipped up copy of the your project?
That might allow me to identify the differences between your working
project and my non-working project quickly without a significant time
commitment from you.

Yes, the same error text on both menu entries.

Hi Timothy,

sorry for the long delay in my reply. I was very busy.

Attached you find the zipped projects. I hope this helps. If you find your problem, please let me know.

Best regards, Lars
