New to VIM and git. Installed vim 7.4 on unix and windows. Need a stable perl syntax file. Is the one that ships with vim 7.4 the best or is this version under git the one I shoudl use?
I'm confused about the repository under git "vim-perl".  Are all the files here related to perl? It seems random. How to install under Windows? does the makefile actually work (under windows)?
thanks

Both. The code in the github project gets sent to Bram to include in core vim. Right now, the Github files should match the 7.4 files because we haven't done anything new since we shipped off the files for the 7.4 release.

Where vim-perl the project is handy is for improvements that get made to the files between major vim releases. Considering there was a three-year span between 7.3 and 7.4, that can be a big win.
