Hi all,

In case you didn't see the news on social media, the MP2 "All Wheel Drive" AWD edition is now available.

This is an outdoor device, dual 5GHz and 2.4GHz radio, with internal USB port and SDcard slot, and FXS port.  Power, telephone, and data are supported with a single ethernet cable, making deployments easier than ever.

Questions / comments welcome.

Cheers... Steve

Great news - well done.
Is there going to be an external antenna version?

Stephen

Hi Stephen

Internally the antennas are connected to both radio pcbs by standard u.fl connectors.

Terry

According to VillageTelco website the unit is still in Pre-order status. It will not be available until mid - October 2016. You might need to change the status on the site. Thanks

O
Looks awesome..

Is it based on OpenWRT? Batman-ADV for the mesh?

Gig Ethernet?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi all,

Yes, same firmware (OpenWrt and batman-adv) as for the MP2 Basic and MP2 Phone.

Gig Ethernet?

Unfortunately not.  100Base-T for both ethernet ports.

@Glen  Same IPEX connector as for MP1 but no need to solder jumper.  The internal antenna for the second (5GHz/2.4GHz) radio connects via IPEX connector to the pcb.

@Pascal Thanks for catching that.  The pre-order tag should not appear any more.

Cheers... Steve

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Steve,

Were any changes made since the alpha units were built (e.g. internal antenna placement)?

Also, do the production units have Villagetelco silkscreening yet?

Thanks,

Keith
