Hello, I am trying to flash mesh potato version 2 using fonflash but failing. I have also tried potato-flash utility and ap51-flash utility. Tee flash utility does not catch the MP during boot up. I connect ethernet cable to LAN port on MP to eth0 on my laptop. I do not assign IP to laptop eth0. I can easily flash MP version 1 but MP version 2 are giving me issues. Please help.

Hi

You do not need to use the flash utilities with MP2. Theu are only for MP1.

Which version MP2 do you have - Basic or Phone?

The device should be running a version of SECN (probably 2.0) when you received it - is that correct?

Assuming it is running SECN, then you can point your browser to the IP address of the device (10.130.1.20 by default) and access the SECN configuration pages.

To upgrade the firmware, go to the Advanced tab and then the Firmware tab.

You will need to use a .sysupgrade file and its md5sum checksum to do the upgrade.

Does that help?

Regards
Terry

Hello Terry,
Thanks for the reply. I just have the basic MP02. When I received the device it was runnning SECN 2.0 RC2 beta. I did use the sysupgrade to upgrade it to latest SECN 2.0. I was looking to install generic openwrt on it, but its ok.

Hi Om

You can install generic OpenWrt if you wish.

You will need to use the BB version of OpenWrt which you can get here:

Specifically you will need this sysupgrade file:

and the md5sum from here:

This firmware will give you the LuCI web interface and also the command line access on default IP of 192.168.1.1

Regards
Terry
