Hi Vusi

The OpenWrt web page below sets out the available hwmode options
As I understand, the 11g setting will allow the router to fallback to 11b if required for compatibility with an 11b device.

We have not included the 11b setting in SECN firmware UI, but you can set in manually in /etc/config/wireless if you have a specific need to use it.

In BB firmware the available settings have been changed to just 11b, 11g and 11a and the HT settings enable N operation as required.

From the OpenWrt page:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Common Options

Name Type Required Default Description

hwmode string no (driver default) Selects the wireless protocol to use, possible values are 11b, 11g, and 11a

11g / 11a selects the band, htmode NOHT disables 11n, htmode HT20 / htmode HT40 enables 11n.
-------------------------------------------------------

Regards
Terry
