opus suport possible on mp2 ?

Hi All, any plans on supporting opus ?

would be more for the opus packet loss robustness (~30% before degrading), not sure how cpu intensive it is at g711 quality levels , as i doubt you will get wideband out of the fxs port ;) or if you did if the handset would make best use of it...

Hi Glen,

In principle this should be doable but I am not sure how straighforward it is.  The current version of Asterisk on OpenWrt is 1.8 which is a few versions before Asterisk 14 for which the announcement is made..

OTOH opus codec for OpenWrt has been around for a while https://github.com/openwrt/packages/blob/master/libs/opus/Makefile

Those with more Asterisk-fu than myself would be able to comment on whether it is simply a case of compiling and enabling the codec in the Asterisk configuration.
