Dear Veterans,
1. Please find attached 2 news cuttings of Times of India dt 1& 2 Aug 12. This paper covers Def News well. As long as I remember:
2. This is the first time in the Indian Mil history that Def Min & 3 Chiefs have been compelled to write to PM, due to aggrieved & agitating War Veterans/ Widows for Justice in the biggest democratic country. A precedence is also set where, a Prime Minister himself have taken over the comd for OROP & Anomalies issue to settle the issue, once Def Min have miserably failed to come out of the Babu's clutches.

3. It is also the 1st time when our Def Min has written in favour of his own forces & Veterans, just because he may be over shadowed by his team/ staff.
4. We never find our rep anywhere, in the decision making bodies, specially to decide our fate. We are now hopeful of some good sense may prevail and we may get our deserving place in society. However still you can't over rule interference of bureaucracy even now. Lets join hands. Because when ever we demand some thing from MOD/ Govt bureaucracy always converts the opportunity to their advantage.

5. All this pressure on Govt have been built up by some ESM, NGOs/ Org, and certainly not by the IESL & ZSBs. Therefore, we request our Chief to interact mainly with War Veterans & NGOs, when ever he finds time. ZSBs & IESL are the Govt bodies, who work for their bosses who pay them & not for ESM community. For example Capt Bhatti's ESM Org is the 2nd largest Regd ESM Union in India at Bathinda, after IESL and he was not allowed to meet the Army Chief on 1/8/12. Where as Chief wanted to meet Veterans, but ZSB & Stn HQ allowed only some selected ESM. This way Chief may not get the real picture/ feed back of ESM Grievances & other issues. Such sarkari mediators do not pose correct picture & play mainly negative role.

dear ss, thanks 4 news feed. in ur last para mention is made of ZSB & IESL as Govt bodies. i agree with with ZSB as Govt body, but IESL is Indian Ex services League, a non Govt, but regd & recognised by Govt as auth org 2 represent ESM. regards-rc

Dear Veteran,
1. Yes, you are right in saying IESL is a Regd & Govt recognised body.
2. IESL survives on Govt funds, from Army & MOD. CM Haryana often provides solid financial asst to IESL, specially near elections.
3. If that be so, how can IESL displease them? Hence, IESL always talks with in the frame work of such financial obligation. No body pays in free. No body want to loose luxeries & goodwill.
4. Where as ESM Regd other Org can talk, write & agitate, appropriately, in any language.
