Hi,

there is a caching logic in the DNS resolver that caches also errors, to know more about this, you can activate logging in Netty to understand what is going on during the resolution.

what do you mean by 3 exceptions ? do you mean exceptions in the web client itself ?

Hi, using 3.5.2. I have a "global" web client configured per verticle instance.

I have purposely configured the wrong DNS to test error handling. And I get the follow error....

Search domain query failed. Original hostname: 'xyz' failed to resolve 'xyz'. Exceeded max queries per resolve 4

So far so good, the thing is I'm sending 4 messages and only getting back 3 exceptions. Does the above means that on the 4th it doesn't try?

Sorry, see this thread instead: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/vertx/5e9VZ05BuC0

It was by chance that I have 4 emitted records which matches against the "Exceeded max queries per resolve 4" Basically it looks like Flowable is swallowing 1 error?
