to Venturer Camp
Places are still available for the Venturer Camp Committee of Venturers. We can pay for travel and accommodation for a weekend that should be fun.

If you have venturers that would like to be involved in the planning committee or just come along to the London meeting then please rsvp vc...@woodcraft.org.uk with your details.

The meetings are designed for Venturers to take part and design the camp that they want. We will provide accommodation and support for adult chaperones if necessary.
Hello Everyone,

I want to remind you that we have the next Venturer Committee (Council) meeting on Friday 9th to Sunday 11th April.

It will be in London at Holland Park YHA  (http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation/london/hostels/london-holland-park/index.aspx)

If you are a Venturer then Tracey Cleveland will be in touch soon to book your travel and such like.

If you are on the central team then please book  your travel now, if you have any problems please contact myself or Tracy or Rebbeca from the Tree Team at Folk House.

We need to know confirmation of numbers, diets, and arrival times/departure times by Thursday next week (this means that you have just under a week).

You should arrive on the evening (after 6pm on the Friday) and then we will leave Holland Park at 1pm on the Sunday.

Also Dan Ellis (the production coordinator) has been offered a job in Japan (lucky old him) and so will not be able to fulfil the role. We all wish him luck in Japan.

We will discuss this and also the set up of VCamp, the programme and also it will be a chance for you to get an update of the areas of the camp.

At the meeting we will be asking you to take on roles that we will be able to support you with.

As a first it would be good if everyone on this list could introduce themselves very briefly (like this):

Lloyd Russell-Moyle
Hello, my name is Lloyd. I am from Lewes, near Brighton but live at the moment in Bradford (that's up north). I the administrator for the Camp and do the bookings, money and also policies for the camp. I am a student of Peace Studies at Bradford where I have been since 2005 and am enjoying it loads. Next year I am planning to go off to work for IFM-SEI in the Brussels office (that is the international Woodcraft Folk).

I enjoy going to the theatre and also using theatre methods for education. In my spare time I run training course on different issues from Queer theory to ecology.

I hope to see you all in a few weeks time.

Lloyd

Hello Guys,

I have booked YHA Holland Park, London for the next committee meeting for Venturer Camp. We have 15 beds and he class room from the Friday 9th April to Saturday 11th April.

We have a 12 bedroom exclusivity. Tracy will be phoning around all the Venturer members to arrange the travel and make sure that everything is booked. We will send around an agenda nearer the time. We are happy to go around and meet everyone at each main line train station in London for those arriving further afield.

Thanks Lloyd.

We discussed this in the TREE team meeting yesterday, and Tracy (cc’ed) said that she’s happy to support the arrangements for the Venturers. Now she has their details, she can get in touch with them ( Tracy – details or names, email addresses and a few phone numbers - in Lloyd’s previous emails below).

We just have a few more questions for you and Magico first:

  1. Have you emailed them before now to let them know the dates of the upcoming meeting? Or will Tracy be making initial contact?
  2. Have you had any luck looking for venues? Please let us know if not and we could have a think.
  3. Do you have a sense of agenda or timings at this stage? It would be good to have a rough start and finish time for the meetings when we get in touch with the Venturers.

If you could let us know ASAP, it would great and we can get going with this…

Cheers,

Rebecca

Hi Lloyd.

Just to check - you should have had a list of 8 people from Penath WF and a cheque for £80 deposit sent by David Worssam.

He is the new contact for Penarth re: venturer camp.

Regards, Grant
