Walk Bike Nashville is hoping to make the Bike/Ped counts more frequent, to get better data for walking and biking advocates. See their appeal below:

The Mayor's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, in partnership with Metro Planning, Walk/Bike Nashville, and Metro Public Works are looking for volunteers to help with Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts around the city NEXT week!

Bicycle and Pedestrian Counts will take place next Tuesday 9/9, Wednesday 9/10, and Thursday 9/11 during commuting hours -- 7-9 am and 4-6 pm.  A brief conference call training will be available for all volunteers on Monday at 11:30 am or 4:30 pm.

Volunteers will be assigned a location(s) and a timeframe(s) based on their preferred area of town and availability.  Volunteers will be responsible for completing the count at their assigned location during their assigned time on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday (back-up day) next week.

If you are interested in volunteering, please send an e-mail to Liz Thompson at l...@walkbikenashville.org with the following information:

·  Your preferred areas of town to conduct counts.  We will do our best to assign you a location near this area.

·  Your AM and PM availability next Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday

·  The number of AM and/or PM shifts you'd like to volunteer for

Liz will follow up as soon as possible with more information on the Monday training and volunteer assignments.

Thank you!
