accessing function scope chain

It appears that the debugger has access to a function's scope chain. Is it possible to do this through the API as well? Given some function f, analyze its scope chain to compute some interesting information?

When you say API, do you mean the programmatic debugger API? If yes,
the JS or the C++ version?
