Hello,  May I know is there a way to instrument the javascript API (like substring), where when a new version of chromium is out, I could easily port the instrumentation from old version to new version?  Thanks!

I don't really understand what you're trying to do (what is "the JavaScript API"? How do you want to "instrument" it?), but the short answer is probably "no".
