The American Psychiatric Nursing Foundation is seeking applications from registered nurses for research that advances the knowledge and practice of psychiatric-mental health nursing.

The program supports investigators who are beginning their research careers and will award up to five individual grants of up to $5,000 each. Priority will be given to investigators who have not previously received major intra- or extramural funding.

Each grant applicant must be licensed as a registered nurse in psychiatric mental health nursing or a related field of nursing. The foundation will accept applications for master’s thesis or doctoral dissertations with approval by the grant applicant’s thesis or dissertation committee.

Last year, the foundation awarded grants of $5,000 each to two psychiatric mental health nurse researchers.

Complete program guidelines and application instructions, as well as profiles of the 2013 grant recipients, are available on the APNF Web site.
