The Wilson Center invites scholars, journalists and public intellectuals to take part in its flagship International fellowship Program. The Center aims to unite the world of ideas to the world of policy by supporting preeminent scholarship and linking that scholarship to issues of concern to officials in Washington. The Center distinguishes itself from policy institutions in its consideration of issues in a broader and more reflective manner beyond a narrow analysis of current crises and policy options. Applicants should think in terms of what they have to say to policy makers in Washington and how they can inform policy decisions through their work.

Through an international competition, the Center offers 9-month residential fellowships. Fellows conduct research and write in their areas of expertise, while interacting with policymakers in Washington and Wilson Center staff.  The Center accepts non-advocacy, policy-relevant, fellowship proposals that address key policy challenges facing the United States and the world.
