FYI, supervisors and mentors of post-docs in your
department may be interested to hear that the MRS has a
new post-doctoral award, which will be given for the
first time at the Fall 2014 meeting. Winners will
receive a $2k honorarium and have their registration fee
waived for the meeting at which they receive the award.
Unlike the MRS grad student award, a post-doc can’t
apply for the award; they have to be nominated by
someone. Info on the award and the nomination procedure
can be found at http://www.mrs.org/postdoctoral/
I’m the chair of the committee that will choose
the winners (4 per year initially).
