THREE HOMES ROBBED AT DUSK IN SUBANG JAYA FIVE suspects struck three homes in SS14 and SS17 in Subang Jaya in the wee hours this morning, fleeing with an assortment of valuables and cash. Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Yahaya Ramli said the three cases were believed to have been perpetrated by the same group of five men believed to be Malaysian Chinese between the age group of 25-40. "They were armed with machetes (parang) and they had surgical masks over their face." "They tied up their victims with cable tie and used pepper spray on a victim in one of the houses," he said. Yahaya said some of the suspects wore gloves and baseball caps. "The gang came in a black Porsche Megane with false number plates which is registered under a Mercede C200 from Cheras." "The suspects entered the houses by the main door which they pried open. They cut the locks for the first case in SS17 while the second case had an electric gate which they pushed open. The gate of the third house was unlocked," he added. Yahaya said the first case was in SS17 which was broken into at 4am. "The two victims lost two laptops, three gold pendants worth RM20,000, one gold chain and three banbles worth RM10,000 and RM2,000 cash." "The victims were tied up," he said. In the second case, Yahaya said the group struck at a home for underprivileged children in SS14 which at the time of the crime had one caretaker and 10 children. "The suspects fled with two gold chains, RM3,800 in cash and 11 bank books. They tied up all their victims before making a getaway," he said. Yahaya said the third house was also in SS14 which was a rented house. "There were two tenants in the house. They lost RM200 in case, personal documents and a mobile phone." "One of the victims was injured on the lips as he had hit a door. He also suffered some bruises on his back after being hit by a blunt object which we suspect was the handle of the machete," he said. Yahaya said a special police task force had been immediately set up to hunt down the suspects. "We will increase our patrols and will also be having briefings with the residents of the areas concerned," he said.
