Hi There, I work in US last year for about 9 months, my wife wife worked in Ontario, Canada full year. We are Canadian. My taxes are withheld in US, for my wife, taxes are withheld in Canada. By our respective employers from payroll deductions.
How shall we file joint tax returns in both countries. Any help suggestion / comment is appreciated. Thank You.

You will need to determine your residency for each person. When done, you will know which tax return is filed as resident, then which is as non-resident. Once there, you prepare the three tax returns ignoring the foreign taxes. (And Canada does not have "joint" returns, but "links" between the two spouses' returns.) Once you reach this point, you then can prepare the foreign tax credit worksheets and official schedules.

I will caution you that your situation is highly complex and any accounting office will refer you to a specialist very quickly. You are asking a question which really takes several months of intense study. Too much to put into a quick email.

You may wish to spend the few thousand for professional help.
