The Department of State is proud to announce the redesigned ForeignAssistance.gov.  The redesigned website provides users with a simplified and more user-friendly experience.

To further improve the transparency, access, accountability, and use of our foreign assistance data, the website was redesigned to better address the needs of stakeholders as well as streamline the process for locating data quickly on the site.  Today’s launch is the result of a yearlong effort to engage stakeholders and incorporate user feedback on the website to improve the online experience.

Visitors to ForeignAssistance.gov will notice a marked difference in the layout to help the diverse audience navigate to high-level country, agency, and sector statistics quickly through the “Explore” function, while data-driven users can download data through the one-click “Download” function.

ForeignAssistance.gov was created in 2010 to increase aid transparency and serve as a mechanism for users to view, analyze, and track foreign assistance data from across the U.S. Government.  The website is an initiative within the U.S. Open Government National Action Plan, the 2010 and 2015 Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Reviews (QDDR), and supports the U.S.’s commitments to many transparency efforts including the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) and the Busan Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation.  In an effort to promote ongoing improvement for open government and open data, the Department is continuing to work closely with agencies receiving foreign assistance funding to improve the quality of data they are reporting to the site.

Comments and questions can be submitted on the Contact Us page of the site.  Follow us on Twitter (@ForeignAsst_gov) for the latest news on the site, open data, and development.

Thank you for all of your support!
