The Walter Gellhorn Innovation Award is named after the Conference's longest-serving Council member
who was known by many as the "Father of Administrative Law."
The
Gellhorn Award, judged by a distinguished panel of experts, is
designed to recognize the federal agency with the best model practice that can be adopted government-wide.
The 2013-2014
award was given to the
General Services Administration for their DigitalGov User Experience Program, which helps federal agencies improve their online customer service offerings by making information on government websites easy to find, accessible, and available on
the go.
This year’s
award will be presented at the
62nd Plenary Session
on June 4, 2015.
We encourage all Conference members to submit a Gellhorn Award nomination.
The application consists of a short online form. Government agencies may submit their own best
practices, or nominate another government agency. Anyone (not just government members) can submit a nomination for an agency best practice.
Submissions are due no later than
Monday, May 4, 2015.
Has your agency made advances in technology that result in cost savings to the government or external users? Does your agency
employ retrospective review of regulations in an innovative and efficient way? Does your agency have other best practices that can be shared? If so…
