Thought this would be of interest: Great new research on open government data from the Pew Research Center: http://www.pewinternet.org/2015/04/21/open-government-data/

Many hope that more transparency and data sharing will help journalists, make officials more accountable and improve decisions. But very few think agencies are doing a great job of providing useful data.

Interesting and relevant in the areas it covers. Unfortunately, the report didn’t investigate awareness of data quality or usability. It does touch on beliefs that open data improve accountability, decision making, and journalism. Reaffirms my belief that many outside government (and inside?) don't even know these issues exist.
