"Close Window" link on subscription request window doesn't work

If a subscription request is opened as a link to a full page, then after the subscription request is done, the "close window" link doesn't work to close the page. I suspect that this is because subscription requests were originally designed as popup windows, and the "close window" link was designed to close the popup. But now that popups are discouraged in web design, the "close window" link remains, and is not functional. Perhaps this link could simply be removed.
