Howdy,
The Privly Foundation is participating in the 2014 Google Summer of
Code (GSoC) [0]. If you are a university student then this means you
could potentially be paid for a summer of writing unhosted web
applications. Students who complete the program are paid $5,500 USD by
Google for the summer.
The only technical requirement for your apps is that they integrate
with the Privly family of browser extensions [1], which allow you to
inject privacy applications (even unhosted ones) into arbitrary hosted
websites.
The deadline is coming soon! if you want to apply to the program I
will help you "inject" an existing unhosted app using the Privly
extensions. It took about 5 minutes to inject an Unhosted app using
Privly at the Portland Unhosted hackathon last year.
See further discussion on this GSoC "idea" here [2] and feel free to
discuss or ping me on IRC.
Cheers,
Sean
