Having now got the OAP bus pass I often go into town and sit upstairs
on one of the front seats.
As the bus goes through town numerous folk seem oblivious to any
traffic and merely cross, admittedly at a zebra, without a glance
whether or not they are on their phone.
The drivers, who definitely have more patience than I, clearly are
anticipating as can be felt by the throttle being lifted or a bit of
precautionery brake before the pedestrian has reached anywhere near
the edge of the kerb.
Then the number who dawdle across, oblivious to the fact they are
holding up 50 passengers, is staggering.
Personally I'd put cow catchers on the front, and I mega-loud sound
system, or alternatively allow natural selection to take place.
