A shocked sponging cyclist has issued a warning after a ‘neck-height’
deadly wire was laid as a trap on a cycle path in Newcastle

http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/walker-newcastle-fishing-wire-cycle-13479175

Katja Leyendecker, chair of Newcastle Cycling Campaign, has condemned those
responsible and believes the trap could have had fatal consequences.

She added: “This seems to happen every now and then. I think it’s a small
group of people who really hate cyclists for some reason, I don’t know why.

I know why.

But then you have the thought processes of a child and hate nearly
everything, so what's new!

We put up one of those wires on a path when I were a lad, but it did have a specific target. Another kid we hated. Unfortunately he was a rather large boy and cycled straight through it without even noticing. I told him we shouldn't have used monofilament fishing line.

And the psycho who TRULY has the "thought" processs of a child shows again
what an asshole he was already as a youngster.

BTW, who's that "we" you constantly keep hallucinating about, sociopath?
Hiding behind your "we" WON'T help you to hide that you ARE a clinical
sociopath that nobody, but nobody, even in real life, wants anything to do
with, you unempoyable, "permanently ill" wanker!

Of course it could.

I'm not sure she's right about a "small group". I'd like to know what
the source for that claim might be.

If it were a large group of such people, who really hate cyclists
enough to engage in such irresponsible acts, then wouldn't you expect
examples of these traps, which could have fatal consequences, to be
far more widespread?

No.

Most people are law-abiding, non-violent, placid in demeanour and do not
let their feelings get the better of them in that way. Only a minority
fail to live up to the required standards of a civilsed society.

Unfortunately, in the times in which we live, a disproportionate part of
that minority are cyclists. It never used to be that way and we do not
have to tolerate it (see threads on current news nearby).

Since such traps need to be put in out of the way places to be
effective, it would require the person doing it to get out of a car and
walk a few yards. This rules out at least 99% of the population.

You forget about the 1 in 3 motorists who have road rage *against each

Do you live in India? I have not observed anything like that on the roads. At a guess I'd say it's more like 1 in 30.

Tell me about how they speed ahead, hide their cars and quickly rig wire
traps across the carriageway in order to catch the person with whom
they've fallen out.

Do they get the necessary supplies out of a cardvboard carton with
"Acme" stencilled on the outside?

Why are you spouting nonsense? We all know what road rage is and it's nothing like Roadrunner.

Me neither, which is why I treat that "1 in 3" claim with some
scepticism. And so should you.

I've certainly seen people get angry on the road. I once even saw two
drivers scrapping full tilt, fists flailing, on the ground next to a
Range-Rover at traffic lights in outer London. But that this (ie,
something equivalent to stretching a rope across the road deliberately
to try to injure cyclists) happens to 1 in 3 drivers... no.

You sociopathy prevents you from perceiving it ...especially in yourself,
you pathological road rowdy.
