Stephen King was rejected many times.
THEN he wrote "Carrie".
Carrie White burns in Hell.

I delight in taking the piss out of you as you well know.
You also take the piss out of me.

However, I must genuinely say that I do think you are mentally ill.

I strongly suggest that you seek professional mental help.

Why not speak with your wife - show her the things you post here. I assume
that she has read the book. Discuss with her how you can try and get better.

It would probably also be better for you if you actually stopped using usenet;
because as long as you do : you will continue to get the sort of responses
which your posts deserve.

I send this reply, not to take the piss out of you; but to try and help you.

So were the novels and poems of the Bronte sisters. Best drama over
Christmas was "To Walk Invisible" scripted by the incomparable Sally
Wainwright.

Actually I think it was only the first of the Harry Potter books that
was repeatedly rejected - the sequels found favour more easily.

An interesting ramble once you dismiss the astrological drivel. And that
part is drivel, as you must surely know. Nobody born under any
particular sign of the zodiac has any special gifts, powers or talents
resulting from the configuration of the constellations.

Your Mal de Debarquement syndrome appears to have been self-diagnosed
since you don't cite any doctor or hospital as a reliable source of the
diagnosis. Perhaps you actually had some other neurological problem, or
a psycho-somatic problem.

I am glad that you have found some comfort from believing in God, though
I am equally certain that there is no God. Science alone can provide truth.

Why is the subject line "Judith and Ophelia"? Were you hoping that
having read 61 pages of stream of consciousness they would understand
you better and find it possible to empathise with you?

Many of us have come back from the dead, you know - I mean, come very
close to death. It's nothing special.

Sadly, MdDS remains criminally underdiagnosed due to 99% of quacks believing it to be vestibular, but that does not make you crash cars, forget your job or wonder how to walk to a chip shop and what to do when you get there.

"Misery" was sort of okay, but it was not really a Stephen King book. James
Caan and somebody called Kathy Bates were in the movie. She won the best
actress Oscar for her performance, she deserved it.
I think that I sort of gave up on Stephen King after reading "Rose Madder".

When I moved house I left loads of black plastic bags full of books in the
loft. The best part of The Pan Book Of Horror Stories collection and many
Stephen King books.
I do regret leaving "The Incredible Shrinking Man" in the loft. The book,
not the bloke.
It may well have been a first edition, the artwork on the cover was
magnificent.

I think that "The Shining"/ "Salems Lot" were his best horrors, "The Stand"
his best book. I've read them several times.
"The Running Man" was his best short story.
"Christine" was very good. "Ain't nothing in the world better than the smell
of a new car, better even than pussy".
I suspect that he started to dry up after writing "It". He made a total
balls of finishing it.
Worth £400M now.
Never heard of Bill Bryson.
I stopped reading books round about 1999. Before that my lifestyle allowed a
lot of reading, now it don't. I don't even have one of those Kindle things,
or whatever they are called.

BTW, I read "Dracular" when I was 15. It's a good read - try it.

Perhaps someone phoned the DVLA pretending to be you and said that you'd tried
to commit suicide, you were now fully recovered, had found God - and would it
be OK to drive now?

You've certainly made it easy for someone to do that.
