All the important people have a PS4. Those who only have an Xbone are to be
pitied.

The Majority of us are on PS4, the multiplayer limit is only 8 which I
think we could easily get. The Pure games usually go on sale on a regular
basis so keep an eye out for a 50% off sale on this, £15.99 on the store at
the moment.

A monthly game should not be too difficult to set up.

You must be at the point now nearly to jump to a PS4 or Xbox One?

Not really. They don't offer me anything ground breaking apart from
higher res textures and better framerates.
The only current-gen game I'm particularly pumped about is ghost recon
wildlands.
Apart from that, VR is just so much more attractive as a proposition.

There are many online poker websites but I've no idea which are ideal for

PokerTH - open source, client server poker game. Someone runs the
server, everyone runs the client (think you can also use a web browser,
not sure).

If you do settle on a PC/browser alternative, then count me in.
Otherwise, I'm afraid I'm in the 'to be pitied' camp still.

Can't play a poker game without you Witty, it has to be a PC based option
but ideally with voice chat (although I suppose we could use google hangouts
or something else for that).

I will take a look around to see what we can use, would be good to get our
monthly games running again.

Monthly!? We had monthly poker games? Don't think so ever. But yes, I'd
be up for UGVM PC Poker.

Can we get a head-count? Even if we exceed a reasonable table number
there are bound to be drop-outs on any one evening.

On the 360 we used to have monthly poker games with Texas hold em, first
Friday of every month if I remember?
We will get enough players, there are enough of us on UGVM, facebook or
Twitter to get the numbers for a full table.

It works fine, I've used it. The basic functionality is all there (no
voice chat, you'd need google hangouts et. al.)

What do you think of Pokerstars? I think it may be ideal, you can play home
(private) games with play money.
I've not tried google hangouts but I assume it will work for chat.

Haven't looked at PokerStars, and can't from work, will have a look
later when I'm back at home.

I don't have any objection on principal.

Yes it users some obscure TCP ports which I had to temporarily allow on my
ip address on the work firewall to set up an account, will configure further
this evening at home.

I've just installed the PokerTH server to try it out.

Reminds me -lest we forget... all signees agree to cough-up a fiver via

Paypal tends to be the easiest option, but just remember that they don't
approve of gambling. So when you send your payment, don't mention
anything in any message about poker or winning or anything. Best to just
send it with no message at all! Otherwise you could find your account
and all your money frozen/closed!
