I'm signing up for DD100, starting in Feb 2003 (my first OU course) and
would like to use the OUSBA (Student Budget Accounts). However, on the form
it's asking for my "OU Personal Identifier." Should I just send off my OU
application and expect to be given an identifer to then use for the OUSBA
application?
Also - will I be given access to the First Class software and all the other
material before the course starts?
Many thanks
Will

I don't know about the first question, but when I took my 1st OU
course in 2000, I got access to FC in the December before the course
started.
As far as I can remember, I was assigned a Personal Identifier when I first
requested information and a prospectus from the OU (although this was over a
couple of years ago). It might be an idea to have a look for any literature
you have received from them - hopefully you should see a Personal ID printed
on something.
If you don't have any luck with that, you should give your Regional Office
or the HQ in Milton Keynes a call - you can give them your details and
they'll be able to search for your Personal ID on their computer system.
Good luck!

Collete's advice is very good. In addition, the PID is often printed
in the bottom left hand corner of pages the OU send you.

I would check on any correspondence that you have from the OU.... Usually at
the top it gives your personal id usually 1 letter and 7 numbers like
G3530553. I cant really remember what happened when i started with the OU
last year.... all I can remember is that I received my PI whenever I first
registered for the course....
I got a letter with a username and password at least 6 months before the
course started and if you look one the website login it will give this
personal identifier also..
If you are not sure contact registration on 01908653454.
