Some good news – out of over 1,000 students from what we understand; on short-notice, some 50 students had applied from FEBE, UJ; some 17 students have been selected. We understand that the total team size is between 200-250 students.

Please find the list of successful nominees below. I notice you have other University students also who applied via UJ, please inform them too.
If you are unable to, please let me know so I can contact them.
Kindly inform the successful candidates.
The current departure date to China is 10 March 2017.
NOTICE FOR ALL LEANERS
· The learners need to immediately apply for a passport should they not have one. Once they have obtained it, if they could please forward it to the Chinese Centre to apply for their Visas.
They need to undergo the following medical checks/tests:
· HIV-AIDS test
· TB Test
· Physical fitness and good health test. To determine whether they are physically fit and healthy to undertake the 12 month Internship.
· Criminal Record
All costs for passports, medical tests and criminal checks will be for their own pocket.

merSETA Call - FUNDING OF STUDENTS FOR STUDIES AND WORKPLACE EXPERIENCE IN CHINA
The Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment (FEBE), University of Johannesburg (UJ) has received a last minute recruitment call from merSETA.
Deadline: 15h00, Monday, 30 January 2017
The call is for students who're interested in international outbound and possibly also completing their Work-integrated Learning (WIL) requirements in this manner.
As academic requirements for WIL differs from department to department - this aspect must be coordinated with department/discipline-specific WIL coordinators.
