Hello, I was browsing Cl Captain routing table after connecting from tunnelblick to OpenVPN and I have encounter following:

netstat -rn

Internet:

Destination        Gateway            Flags        Refs      Use   Netif Expire

0/1                10.8.0.21          UGSc            8        0   utun0

default            172.20.10.1        UGSc            5        0     en0

10.8.0.1/32        10.8.0.21          UGSc            1        0   utun0

10.8.0.21          10.8.0.22          UHr            17        0   utun0

89.76.254.99/32    172.20.10.1        UGSc            2        0     en0

127                127.0.0.1          UCS             1        0     lo0

127.0.0.1          127.0.0.1          UH              6     9206     lo0

128.0/1            10.8.0.21          UGSc            7        0   utun0

169.254            link#4             UCS             1        0     en0

172.20.10/28       link#4             UCS             2        0     en0

172.20.10.1/32     link#4             UCS             2        0     en0

172.20.10.1        b6:8b:19:d2:fd:64  UHLWIir         6       48     en0   1160

172.20.10.5/32     link#4             UCS             1        0     en0

172.20.10.15       ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff  UHLWbI          1        5     en0

224.0.0            link#4             UmCS            2        0     en0

224.0.0.251        1:0:5e:0:0:fb      UHmLWI          1        0     en0

255.255.255.255/32 link#4             UCS             1        0     en0

Generally I as wondering about order of this rules as I understand it is down->top (more specific ones first). I think that first one from the top isn't right as should be just below default rule. It might be rather cosmetic, however I wander what implication could it have when multiple simultaneous OVPN connections have been established?

Sorry, but your question has to do with OpenVPN or netstat, or maybe routing in general. Routing is set up by OpenVPN according to the instructions in your configuration file and those pushed by the VPN server and it is difficult to get configurations set up correctly to have multiple simultaneous VPNs.

Tunnelblick has nothing to do with routing; OpenVPN does all the routing changes needed to establish a VPN.

You can get OpenVPN information at:
