Hi.

When I connect with Tunnelblick there seems that the resolve.conf is only partially updated.
It's updates with the right DNS servers but it doesn't change the "search" to the right domain.
It adds example.org as a domain. In the server conference it looks like this

push "dhcp-option DNS 123.456.789.10"
push "dhcp-option DNS 123.456.789.11"
push "dhcp-option DOMAIN mydomain"

Here is the log output:

Changed DNS SearchDomains setting from '' to 'example.org'

Changed DNS DomainName setting from 'xxx' to 'example.org'

Did not change SMB NetBIOSName setting of ''

Did not change SMB Workgroup setting of ''

Did not change SMB WINSAddresses setting of ''

DNS servers '123.456.789.10 123.456.789.11' will be used for DNS queries when

On a Linux machine, this command works just fine:

sudo openvpn --config client.opvpn --up /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf --down /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf --script-security 2

Any ideas why this occurs?

First, you need to understand that most of macOS does not use resolv.conf (read the comment at the start of resolv.conf).  See https://groups.google.com/d/msg/tunnelblick-discuss/nonArohGNz4/WX0A89VTAwAJ. resolv.conf  is more-or-less maintained by macOS itself as a read-only copy of the network setup. In your situation maybe macOS isn't updating it properly.

Is "Set DNS/WINS" set to  "Set nameserver"? That's the default setting and works for most situations, but other settings may do what you want.

Please follow the instructions at Read Before You Post to get the info needed to diagnose problems and then post that info.
