NepTunes Last.fm application unable to scrobble

An application I use to scrobble called NepTunes is unable to relay information to Last.fm when I'm connected to a VPN through TB and I am unable to rectify the issue.

I am currently using Tunnelblick 3.7.0 (build 4790) with IVPN OpenVPN configurations. Additionally, Little Snitch is running on my computer, but I have allowed any connection to and from NepTunes. The notification banner I get from NepTunes says, "An SSL error has occured and a secure connection to the server cannot be made". I can verify that NepTunes works without issue when the VPN is disconnected. I really want to use this app but not at the sacrifice of VPN security.

It's unlikely to be a problem with the Tunnelblick software itself.

It's possible that NepTunes blocks access from VPNs (as does NetFlix), so you might want to check that.

You need to contact your VPN service provider, apparently "IVPN". That is the organization which gave you your configuration files, and perhaps a username and password, and to which you are probably paying a fee for VPN service. For more information, please see  Getting VPN Service.

Tunnelblick is just the free software that many VPN service providers recommend or supply to their customers. We do not provide VPN service, just software.

Thank you for your quick response. It's helpful to know that the issue may not exist with TunnelBlick itself.

Is it common for an application to block outgoing connections because it is being sent through a VPN connection? Can't say I've experienced an issue using Netflix through a VPN before.

Are you telling me that the issue exists with the VPN provider, or the application NepTunes? I'm a little confused by your response.

I understand that you (TunnelBlick) do not provide the VPN service, I'm just covering my bases and contacting each party involved in this issue.

If the problem is with NepTunes it is probably with their server, not that the NepTunes application is blocking outgoing connections through a VPN.

Sorry I wasn't clear about where the problem is -- that was because I don't know. It could be either IVPN or Neptunes.

NetFlix's VPN-blocking is effective for some VPNs but not for others, so I guess you're lucky!
